Not Bennet, Walton. I always get that wrong.

Drove the car out to Bill. It went like a kitten for the first mile or so, but then steamed up again at 33rd Street. Bill suspects hoses. Bill's assistant, whose name I can never remember even though he's the nicest man on the planet, drove me back in his giant truck.

I told him about the thing with the timing belt and Matt. We did our little Midwestern dance of extreme politeness, since we are not a trash-talking people, but we eventually agreed that Matt is a goddamn tool.

I am just glad that the engine is making steam, and not fire. It may have been doing this for a couple of days -- the ran has been so hard and so nonstop that any vapor was invisible against the rain froth.

I do hope I have money for this.

You guys are awesome. No, it should be okay, I'm just whining. Though my life would be easier if Bill still had a Conoco franchise. ;)

Looks like the only good mileage you got out of Matt was comment slash on LJ. (Which was, actually, quite fun at the time.)

*sends positive vibes*
Hope it's not too pricey! {:|

Nebraska. I whine about the rain, but at least it's not three days of snow.

I was scared to death this rain was gonna freeze, and give us another tree and power cable snapping ice storm.

Don't count your prairie chickens. We've had 'em in September and October.

Car repairs, ugh. Always a big worry.

I hope that it's just a *cheap* hose -- or, better yet, a hose clamp that came a little loose, or something that if they're super-nice, they won't charge you for. Fingers crossed!

So I was driving my car around (after the long trip home and back) noticing, "Gee, the engines sure smells like it's running hot." Drove it to church a day or two later and heard this dreadful whining noise...got Mike to check it after Mass ("sounds like the power steering, he says) and sure enough, the reservoir is empty and there's fluid all over the engine parts...ruptured hose, and who knows how long it had been oozing.

May your rain stay rain (or just go away) because no one wants an early winter...

I'd all but forgotten that Matt is a goddamn tool.

Good luck with the car. My little hometown mechanic is a god-fearing Christian who keeps stray cats at his place. "Looks like you hit a raccoon," he said to me last time I was in. I had. He's psychic (or god told him I'd hit a raccoon). Here's hoping your hose is cheap.
