TITLE: Crazy
FANDOM: Hot Fuzz
AUTHOR: annlarimer
WORD COUNT: 1,500ish
RATING: PG-13 fer the cussin'
SUMMARY: The screen is set alight with white-line montage action!
WARNINGS: American spelling, spoilers
NOTES: Angel couldn't have driven to Bristol? They have police, and probably even telephones. Is it that whole men-can't-ask-for-directions thing? "Oh God so lost. Where the fuck is...goddamit, Bristol's supposed to be right here! Am I in the Cotswolds or something? Is there -- OH THANK GOD A SIGN FOR THE M4 I CAN FIND LONDON IF I GO FAR ENOUGH!"
DISCLAIMER: Obviously not mine.
ARCHIVE: Please ask first.

The theme for the evening is cognitive dissonance.

His last view of Danny, for example, is strange and wrong, lit red and backwards in the mirror. Danny looks every bit as frightened and miserable as Angel feels. Danny isn't meant to look like that.

I am so glad I found the link to this on sandfordpolice, because it is glorious and awesome and made of win and laughter.

The bit about the capes is wonderful, and the pure stream of thought style of writing is beautifully done. I do have to tell you that all the good fanfic I find gets put on my USB drive so I can take it to work and read it when I'm on break...and this will be one of the stories (we have no internet connection at our work, so if my coworkers or I find something online that we want to talk about during break, we have to put it on our USB drives and show each other when we have the time). I intend to show it to my coworkers who also love Hot Fuzz (and that's pretty much everybody on my shift ^_~).

Brava, dear; you do fabulous work.

LOVE!

Danny won't even run from him.

Oh ow.

(Much later, Angel will find out that the cloaks originally came from a 1986 Sandford Dramatic Society production of Julius Caesar -- later used in Macbeth, Murder in the Cathedral, and what must have been a very strange production of Half a Sixpence.)

This has to be the most win-filled fic I have ever read. Well, it's on the list at least. Very high up. Because it just makes so much sense, and it shows exactly what Angel's brain is so awesomely stealthy and badass that even he doesn't know what it's doing.

And thank you for pointing out how damn creepy Frank is, because some how I'd missed that what with Angel being all awesome and Danny being conflicted and Skinner getting a church through his head.

Am very slowly catching up on my backlog of fics...

Danny would natter on about them for ages, giving Angel enough background noise to let him tune the world out and think coherently.

Oh, this is nice. Almost all of it taking place entirely in Angel's head, very interesting effect with practically no external action, and excellently put together.

This is a great peek into Nick's mind. I especially love the origin of the cloaks. That's just the kind of tangent one goes off on when faced with overwhelming things. *g*

This is awesome. You got everything; the humor, the scariness of the whole thing, the creeping guilt of "Oh, I left him," the other creeping guilt of "And I also held a ginormous knife to his throat," the sense of how freaky Frank is, Nicholas changing as a person, Danny's fucking scary genius, and exactly the right sense of weight to it all.

And someone desperately needs to write fic where Nicolas Angel runs off and joins the Swiss Guard. Or possibly not, because I will DIE laughing.

Excellent thought-process gone slightly bonkers. Wonderful.
