Let me be blunt: “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan” is the finest post-Zionist action-hairdressing sex comedy I have ever seen. --A.O. Scott, movie reviewer, in The New York Times.
This reminds me of when somebody referred to Shakes the Clown as "The Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies."
"I found myself enjoying it a surprising amount of the time, even though I was thoroughly ashamed of myself."
and
"No thinking adult should get within a mile of this film. I must not have been thinking. For my sins, I laughed. Sorry. I'll try to do better next time."
I will not pay to watch any Adam Sandler movie in the theater because I either like it a lot [not love, just like a lot] or hatey-hate-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE it.
I still have to finish Reign over me, for instance, because I like it, but I got interrupted, and haven't gone back yet.
I'm not terribly familiar with his work, but I find it hard to believe that it's only the 2nd. Perhaps there are golden nuggets to be found in his SNL work.
I saw the trailer for this thing. Twice. (To be fair, it's because I went to see Iron Man twice, but still.) It was marginally better than the trailer for the new Mike Meyer movie.
